Bjorn Roberts

Bjorn Roberts

Partner & Customs and Trade Lead

Bjorn brings 35 years of customs and border enforcement leadership, spanning frontline operations through to national policy and international standard-setting. His career combined direct enforcement command with sustained engagement across border agencies worldwide, shaping how nations detect and respond to organised crime in international trade.

Retiring in 2025 as a Commander (SES Band 1), Bjorn led frontline enforcement across audit, compliance assurance, intelligence, investigations, supply chain operations, targeting, international operations and trade enforcement. He worked directly with border and customs agencies across 30+ nations, evaluating, strengthening and reforming trade and supply chain systems to harden them against organised crime and corruption, and shaped national customs and trade policy as the Commonwealth Member of the National Customs Broker Licensing Advisory Committee, contributing also to international standards through the World Customs Organization.

His contribution has been recognised with two Australia Day Honours, the ABF Commissioner's Medal for Individual Excellence, multiple Departmental Secretary's Awards and multiple WCO Awards.

His formal qualifications include a Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Management from Flinders University and an Advanced Diploma in Government – Fraud Control and Investigations Management from Charles Sturt University. He also completed the U.S. Department of State's International Visitors Leadership Program, an invitation only exchange for emerging leaders from around the world, and has since completed further study in Business Analytics & Visualisation at RMIT University, reflecting his continued investment in the data and AI skills now shaping the field.

This breadth of operational command and policy influence gives Bjorn a practical, globally-informed view of what it takes to lift supply chain integrity to world-best standard. He is now a strategic advisor to major cargo and supply chain operators, working from frontline operations through to the C-suite to lift operational integrity, security and compliance.

Bjorn currently advises some of the world's largest shipping companies on modernising their supply chain security platforms, including the practical integration of AI to identify risk and close visibility gaps across global operations — applying the same frontline judgement that shaped his enforcement career to where AI can genuinely lift security outcomes.

Troy Thomson APM

Troy Thomson APM

Partner & Supply Chain Integrity Lead

Troy brings three decades of law enforcement leadership, spanning complex human vulnerability work in community settings through to supply chain investigations and the development of strategies to target harden the maritime, transport and broader logistics sector. He has managed organisational risk and legal governance at the highest levels of Victoria Police.

His career includes senior roles in sexual assault, family violence and child abuse investigation and policy reform, where he developed an acute sensitivity to vulnerability, trauma and disclosure. As Staff Officer to the General Counsel and Chief Commissioner of Police, he went on to manage the state's most sensitive legal, reputational and organisational exposures, developing deep expertise in consequential risk and transparent, high-level governance.

Troy also directed Strategic Support for Taskforce Trident, a joint AFP, Victoria Police, ACIC, AUSTRAC and ATO initiative that hardened Australia's maritime, transport and logistics supply chains against organised crime, and served as Strategic Advisor, Supply Chain Integrity for the Australian Border Force as part of Operation Jardena, developing strategies to harden the licensed environment against organised crime and enhance the ABF's enforcement posture. He was also the data and analysis lead for the Office of the Illicit Tobacco and E-cigarette Commissioner, developing the first reliable government estimates of the illicit tobacco market.

His contribution has been recognised with the Australian Police Medal (APM), the ABF Commissioner's Award for Supply Chain Strategy, the Rotary Club Vocational Excellence Award for Community Engagement, and various departmental commendations.

This combination of operational depth, strategic insight and legal governance experience gives Troy an ability to deliver solutions to complex corporate and government problems with integrity, rigour and genuine sensitivity. He is now Principal Advisor to global supply chain clients, shipping lines, ports and terminal operators, hardening supply chains against criminal threats.
